Shopping Centre Takes Shape
Construction of the Beeliar Shopping Centre (Stage 1) is progressing with the whole precinct taking shape and a real village feel starting to emerge. When the shopping centre opens in early 2010, it will feature an IGA Fresh Food supermarket and eight specialty shops. Subject to confirmation of the tenancy mix these may include a bakery, newsagency, takeaway food outlets and hair and beauty salon.
Estate manager Robyn Pillinger has been watching the centre take shape from the Mevé Sales Office and says that there is a sense of excitement as the shopping centre starts to complete the community hub made up of the Community Centre, lake and boardwalks, Beeliar Oval, Child Care Centre and Beeliar Primary School.
"The shopping centre is something that residents have been looking forward to having in Mevé and will provide a meeting place for the community. The convenience of having everything in one place that people can walk to so easily makes Mevé even more attractive." said Robyn
Future plans for Stage 2 of the shopping centre includes a possible lakeside cafe and and commercial office suites.
