3/26/2009 - Cordblood Bank Charity Home Sold
New benchmark for Meve

The Rotary WA Cordblood Bank will soon be the recipient of a $150,000 donation from the Beeliar Joint Venture thanks to the successful sale of the 2008 Rotary WA Cordblood Bank Charity Home.

The sale of the home, located at 21 Peregrine Circle, represents a new benchmark for house prices and building standard in Meve and is a vote of confidence in the estate in this current challenging market.

The significant contribution being provided is a reflection of the Beeliar Joint Venture's commitment to the community and will assist Rotary WA to reach its fundraising target of $6 million. These funds will be used to provide WA first public cord blood bank as Rotary’s special centenary gift to the people of WA.

The Rotary WA Cordblood Bank will help many patients who require bone marrow transplants for life threatening medical conditions who are without a suitably matched donor. Because the Rotary WA Cordblood bank project is a public programme, mothers will be able to donate cord blood freely after the birth of their child.

The 2008 Rotary WA Cordblood Bank Home is the second Charity Home hosted by the Beeliar Joint Venture. The first home was sold in 2005 with proceeds benefiting the Fremantle Hospital Medical Research Foundation.
