Launch of Beeliar Regional Park Walk Trails
The launch of three walk trails around Lake Kogolup in the Beeliar Regional Park and the Mevé at Beeliar Estate was greeted with great enthusiasm and interest by around 200 people who took part in the Be Active Beeliar Bushwalk on Sunday 15 November.
The trails marked with the Beeliar Regional Park tortoise logo painted onto paths and markers have been set up out as circuits of 4 and 5 kilometres in length. Signs with maps of the trails are located by the lake in the Mevé at Beeliar estate and at major access points into the Regional Park.
Mevé at Beeliar Estate Manager Robyn Pillinger said the walks are designed for people of all ages and that they provide the chance to get close to nature.
“The Beeliar Regional Park is a unique place and wonderful asset for the community. It was great to see so many people coming along to enjoy the scenery and get healthy.” said Robyn.
After returning from their stroll, walkers were rewarded with a cold drink and sausage sizzle kindly provided by the Lions Club of Jandakot Lakes.
The Be Active Beeliar initiative is a partnership between the Mevé at Beeliar development, the Lions Club of Jandakot Lakes, the Beeliar Residents Advancement Group, the City of Cockburn and the Department of Environment and Conservation.
