Residents of Meve at Beeliar are now enjoying the convenience of having a supermarket in their own suburb with the opening of Beeliar IGA.

The supermarket is the first of nine shops at the recently completed Beeliar Shopping Centre. Other shops to open in the near future include a Brumby's bakery, cafe, newsagent, fish & chips, beauty salon, Westpac ATM, liquor store and optometrist.

The Beeliar IGA features a wide range of everyday grocery items including fresh meat, fruit and vegetables and is open 7 days a week from 7am to 9pm.

Meve at Beeliar Estate Manager Robyn Pillinger says that residents are taking full advantage of having shopping at their doorstep.

"The opening of the shopping centre completes the vision for Meve to have a hub where people meet and come together. It's great to see people around using the community centre, playing sport or exercising on the oval, walking around the lake, having a BBQ or now visiting the shops." said Robin.

As well as providing another amenity for the suburb, a number of local residents have taken adantage of working locally by gaining employment at the shopping centre.
